DEAGAVIEW v1.0 & DEAGAPRINT v1.0
----------------------------------
Written in GFA Basic v2 by Andrew Bowden
And compiled using the GFA Basic v2 Compiler
(c)1992 Andrew Bowden
Another Mc program
Freeware
Details of updates at the bottom
Welcome to the wonderful world of Deagaview and Deagaprint. These two
are very small programs and very easy to use. Deagaview will load up
and display a Deagas uncompacted screen i.e PI?, and display it.
Deagaview will print it out for you. It works fine with my Epsom 9
pin compatable, a Star LC-20. All you need to do is install your
printer, using a printer driver, if you have a non-standard printer.
On loading up both programs you will be confronted with a GEM alert
box asking you to select an option. This is a rundown of the
options:
LOAD PIC - Loads PI? depending on screen mode. PI1 for Low rez, PI2
medium, and PI3 for High. On Deagaview it will display it until you
press a key, and on Deagaprint it will print it out.
HELP - Tells you what to do. VERY brief.
EXIT - Leave.
Simple or what?
If you would like the next version, when it is avalible, send me £2 (
£3 overseas ), which will be able to load PI1 and PI2 files without
changing resolution, then send your cheques or postal orders to :

UPDATES
Version 1.1
Written in GFA Basic v3.5
(c)1992 Andrew Bowden
Still Freeware
Hot off the press, just weeks after I wrote v1.0, here is version 1.1, and it
is written in GFA Basic v3.5, (but uncompiled at time of writing, as I haven't
got the compiler yet.)
There have been several changes:
1 - That useless HELP option has been removed.
2 - The welcomming alert box message has been revised.
3 - The alert box menu for Low and Medium rez users is slightly different. A
rundown of all the functions are below:
VIEW / PRINT PI1 - Enables viewing of Deagas PI1 in Low or Medium rez
VIEW / PRINT PI2 - Enables viewing of Deagas PI2 in Low or Medium rez
EXIT - Leave Deagaview / print.
The option you get will depend on the program you are in i.e. Deagaview would
be VIEW PI1, and Deagaprint will say PRINT PI1.
4 - The alert box menu for High rez has been alightly altered. LOAD PIC now
reads VIEW PI3 or PRINT PI3 depending on the program you are using.
One thing I didn't mention in version 1.0 doc is the fact that GEM is set up
to
print to an Epsom 24 pin printer. To install a 9 pin, you need to use your
control panel's INSTALL PRINTER option.
One final thing... I have to thank Barrie Chapel of ST Formats GFA Surgery for
the resolution switching routine. It is to him that it all became possible.
If you would like the next version, send me £2 (£3 overseas) to :

And if you can supply me with the routine to load and view any of the
following
file formats, into GFA BASIC v3.5, you can get it free, but it will be a while
before it is ready. I am affraid when it comes to loading pics in, I'm
useless! I would like : Deagas PC?, Canvas CNV, Canvas CPT, EZ Art EZ5, EZ
Art
EZ4, IMG, NEO. IF there are any other art file formats you know the routine
for, then send them to me, with an Example picture so I can test them. One I
would actualy love is Tiny format. Don't forget, send me in the routine will
get it free, but only if you are the first to get it in. If you could send it
on paper that would be great but on disk will do fine. Also if you know the
save a screen routine for any of the formats above, I will give away a copy of
my next version.
SO what will be in the next version? I hope to be able to add PC?
compatablilty, and maybe even merge Deagaprint and Deagaview together to form
Deaga! Also look out for Deagacovert, a program that will convert PI? to PC?
and vice versa.
Look forward to version 1.2. Enjoy!
Version 1.3
Written by Andrew Bowden in GFA Basic v3.5
(c)1993 Andrew Bowden/Mc Computer Software
Freeware
15/3/1993
Hello and welcome to version 1.3 of Deagaview and Deagaprint. There was a
version 1.2 but to be honest, the text file was alsmost destroyed, and some
program had altered it in some way, and I couldn't even find the difference
between v1.2 and v1.1! But in this version, there have been changes:
1 :- Welcomming Menu has had a slight re-organise.
2 :- The code has been strealined, making the program a lot smaller than it
was.
3 :- After experimenting with a mono emulator, I descoverd that the picture
load routine I used in the previous versions didn't actually work in high rez.
New code was written and Deagamono was introduced in the mean time. Deagaview
and Deagaprint now both work in high rez.
Well I look very much foward to our next meeting. If you have a mono system,
then look out for Deagamonmo. For mono systems it is far suppiour to these
two
programs. Lookk also for ACCDeaga, a new version of Deagaview and Deagaprint
combined, into an ACC. This will be the first colour ACC from my new ACC
range
(see ACCutil for mono systems).
Well, bye for now.
